Senior WebSphere on z/OS administrator

Blue Cross Blue Shield (HCSC) is looking for Sr. WebSphere on z/OS administrator. This position is for WebSphere on z/OS (WASz) team, which is currently 4 people, plus 2 open positions (manager and Sr. technician).

We have 50 WASz servers to support in a Cluster configuration across LPARs, using MQ Queue Sharing and DB2 Data sharing and many failover features in place. 1st of 12 planned implementations, using WASz, is going live in 2 weeks.

Technical Specialist-Messg Svs (Websphere Application Server (WAS) Administrator on z/OS)

Basic Function:
Senior level team member within the Websphere Application Server (WAS) technical support team to include the system programming support, installation, configuration and maintenance of the Websphere environment on the zServer/z/OS platform. Additional duties include the evaluation and integration of new technologies; advanced support issues to insure high availability; coordination and communication; and coinsuring compliance with all policies, principles and directives.

Job Requirements:

4 years of systems programming experience on the z/OS platform supporting Websphere Application Server (WAS) with a bachelors degree in computer science OR 6 years of systems programming experience on the z/OS platform supporting Websphere Application Server (WAS);
4 years experience within a Websphere Application Server (WAS) technical support team providing system programming, installation, configuration, maintenance and general production support;
Demonstrated experience with evaluation and integration of new technologies within a WAS support environment.

Preferred Job Requirements:

4 years experience with Websphere Application Server (WAS) on multiple platform;
4 years experience supporting MQ Series on multiple platforms.

CICS and/or MVS system background is a big plus.

Senior Level IMS DBA

Dedicated Technologies, Inc. is an IT consulting firm based in Columbus, OH. Our continued growth has led to an opening for a Senior Level IMS DBA.

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE:

8 years experience in IMS batch and on-line performance monitoring and tuning techniques
2 years experience with TSO/ISPF on-line editor
5 years IMS database analysis experience using IMS/DB/DC with DBRC/IRLM block level sharing

Each offered candidate meeting the three mandatory requirements above will be a PLUS to have skills from the list below:

2 years experience using BMC database administration tools in an IMS environment
5 years experience acting as a senior database administrator team lead on an IMS database project where one of the team lead project assignments lasted a minimum of one year
5 years experience leading large, complex database design projects where there were minimums of 50 – 100 hierarchical direct access method (HDAM) databases using secondary indexes, logical relationships, VSAM & OSAM access methods.
5 years of system analysis design involving hierarchical direct access method (HDAM) database.
8 years of IMS database design and programming experience
2 years experience administering IMS version 9.0 or higher
2 years of Software Configuration Language Management (SCLM) experience
3 years experience using ERWIN , CA Repository, Model Mart, or other modeling tools
2 years experience using Omegamon
3 years experience programming in COBOL
3 years experience administering database partitioning or dataset grouping for IMS databases
2 years experience administering high availability databases (HALDB)
3 years administering hardware/software compression
3 years using system managed storage (SMS)
3 years using IBM’s Data Dictionary
2 years experience using Dimensions by Serena as a problem management system
2 years experience providing IMS database support using RMF.
